Daily “Lit” Smoothie

Hello my loves!

It’s been far too long since I’ve posted on my blog but I wanted to get back on the grind of weekly blog posts. Quick update – I’ve started a new job as a Behavioral Therapist and I am currently studying for my GRE exam because my ultimate goal is to get my doctorate degree and be a Psychologist. Yeah… it’s a lot and I don’t know what the future holds but I know that I’m just going to keep truckin’ through and moving forward with my goals.

Exciting news – I am starting a new segment on my blog called “healthybug.” This is essentially where I will share all of my tips on health and wellness. It’s been a long journey for me to discover what works and what doesn’t in regards to maintaining my healthy lifestyle. I am now at a point in my life where I feel confident and comfortable in saying that I am at my “healthy peak.” I want to utilize the knowledge and tips I’ve learned throughout years of trial and error and share it with all of you. Cheers to sharing the love and hopefully you learning a thing or two about getting healthy.

I’m starting the segment out nice and strong with my current go-to “Lit” Smoothie as I like to call it. Basically, this is a green smoothie on crack! On a good day, I’ll have this smoothie for breakfast or even for lunch but it’s such an easy way to incorporate a ton of greens, fiber and vitamin rich superfoods into your diet.

Check below for the ingredients I use to make my “Lit” Smoothie.

1 heaping handful of organic spinach or kale

1 cup of almond milk or any non-dairy milk of choice

1/2 cup of strawberries or any fruit of choice

1/2 of a banana for extra creaminess

1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

1 scoop of Amazing Grass Green Superfood Powder

1 tbs of organic maca powder

1 tbs of chia seed

optional handful of Purely Elizabeth granola

If I’m drinking this smoothie after a workout I’ll add in a quality plant-based protein powder. My go-to protein powder atm is Amazing Grass Protein Superfood in the chocolate peanut butter flavor. It’s the perfect combination of protein + superfoods + vitamins + and nutrient-dense fruits and veggies. So yummy too!

Comment below with your go-to smoothie recipes! I love experimenting and trying out different ingredients to throw into my blender. With summer just around the corner, smoothies have definitely been on my radar. Such an incredible way to get in your daily nutrients and superfoods.

I hope you all enjoyed the first segment of “healthybug.” Definitely keep up with my blog for more tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
