BEAUTY EDIT: Current Night Skincare Routine

As you may already know, skincare is my #1 priority when it comes to my beauty regime. Getting into my mid 20s, I’ve come to the realization how important skin is and maintaining good skin is all I want to focus on. If I’m taking care of my skin I can be rest assured that I will be looking pretty decent with or without makeup. With this being said, I do everything in my power to maintain good skin with a solid and consistent skincare regime.

I want to share with you some of the products I’ve been absolutely obsessing over and really putting to the test at night. When I sleep, I love for my skin to be fully moisturized so that way in the morning I feel refreshed and my skin looks brighter, nourished and more plump.

Here’s a lineup of products I use at night and why they’re the bomb!

The most important step to any good nighttime skincare routine is removing all the makeup, dirt and excess oils that are on your face from the day. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been using Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser to remove my makeup and it works like a dream! It’s gentle and literally gets EVERYTHING off from waterproof mascara to even matte lippies.

Another product I’ve been loving to effectively remove my makeup has been the Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes, White Tea Extract. These bad boys not only smell amazing but they’re natural and work so well. Every night when I’m getting ready for bed I literally look forward to the calming and refreshing scent these babies have.

Once the majority of my makeup has been removed, the next step is cleansing! Lately, I’ve been loving Pacifica’s Kale Detox Deep Cleaning Face Wash. This is really unlike any other cleanser I’ve ever tried. It not only removes any excess makeup I may have on my face but it leaves my skin feeling super smooth and luxe after use.

Since normal everyday cleansing isn’t enough for me to maintain good skin, I like to additionally go in with a quality scrub. Over the past few months, I’ve been really into SheaMoisture’s African Black Facial Wash & Scrub. I use this product a few times out of the week to keep my skin clear of excess dirt and oils and to maintain a smooth, baby soft feel.

Next up on the agenda is toning. Toning is essential towards maintaining your skins natural pH balance after you’ve cleansed and scrubbed your skin clean. Recently, I’ve been mixing up my toners. I have been absolutely obsessing over the NUXE Gentle Toning Lotion with Rose Petals. This is an incredibly gentle and luxe toner that leaves my skin feeling completely refreshed with its lovely rose scent.

I don’t know why but I love scrubbing my lips smooth after toning. Since I only tend to wear matte lippies, my lips need constant care and hydration when I’m not wearing lipstick. I only use lip scrubs from Lush because they’re all-natural and made from ingredients that you can basically eat – which is pretty rad. I picked up a new scrub last week from my local Lush store and it’s seriously amazing. I got Lush’s new Lip Scrub in Honey and haven’t put it down since. This flavor is made with honey, white chocolate and vanilla. Dreamy alright!

Of course, after scrubbing my lips I use an equally as amazing lip balm. As you may have already read in my Glossier post here, I’ve been obsessing over Glossier’s Balm Dotcom. This universal skin salve does my lips justice and I wake up with super smooth and soft lips!

Now, for the most important part of my night skin regime – moisturizer! For moisturizer, I’ve been loving applying a serum then going in with a more heavy-duty moisturizer. I use Fig + Yarrow Facial Serum to bring life to my skin. A few drops of this bad boy really hydrates and brings elasticity back to my skin.

After applying my serum, I go in with the big guy. I’ve been using Clinique’s Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer for about a week and my skin hasn’t felt more plump or revitalized. Once I’ve been using this product for a few more weeks, I’ll be able to give a more proper review and dedicate an entire blog post to it! So definitely stay tuned!

The eyes need hydration just as much, if not more than your face does! I’m pretty consistent with applying an eye cream day and night. At night, I’ve been loving Clinique’s All About the Eyes eye cream. I tend to wake up with super puffy eyes and using this product at night has really diminished this problem.

This nighttime skin regime is on constant rotation and the products are always changing. If you can’t already tell, I’m always switching up products and trying out new things! Your skin becomes familiar with overuse of the same products which doesn’t allow for that product to actually work. I’m always on the hunt for the next best serum, eye cream and even moisturizer. Please let me know in the comments below if you enjoyed this post. If you have any cult skin faves, I’d love to know too!

Sending love & happiness to my love bugs.
