February Loves

Hello love bugs!

Here is my second rendition of monthly loves. Every month, I want to share with you all of the wonderful and incredible things (both tangible and non-tangible) I’ve been loving over the course of that month. Check out my last blog post featuring my January Loves here!

The month of February has been incredible. The start of 2017 has really been a test of growth, putting myself outside of my comfort zone and having trust and faith within universe. With that being said, I’ve accumulated a number of goods I haven’t been able to put down all month-long.

Every month, I have the goal to at least get through one to two books. This month, I read a book called; Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur by Cara Alwill Leyba. This was an incredible read dedicated to female empowerment and all the possibilities you can achieve when you leave fear, doubt and anxiety at the door. Reminding yourself on a daily basis of your main goals, passions and staying true to yourself are some mantras explained throughout this book. Looking at where you’ve started and how far you’ve come is truly the secret to staying motivated and being successful. I can honestly say that I want to reread this bad boy already because it’s one of those books that have an array of hidden messages and meanings. Never give up and follow your dreams (my daily reminder)!

Plants have always been a form of relaxation and mindfulness for me, personally. I always make an effort to fill my personal space with nature or other life forms. If anyone knows me well, they know that sunflowers are my thing! I absolutely love flowers and everything about them. From the smells, the colors, to the way they make me smile – flowers are revolutionary and super downplayed in my opinion. I received these gems from my parents for Valentines Day and they’ve been sitting beautifully on my night stand. Another thing I love to do is put flowers in recycled glass containers. I used a recycled cold brew container to hold my sunflowers. If you would like more DIY ideas on how I arrange and hold my flowers – definitely let me know! XO

This rad leather jacket holds a very special place in my heart mainly because I spent so much time looking for this gem. For a good three years, I’ve been looking for the perfect leather jacket. I came across this bad boy about a year ago and it hasn’t left my side since. It’s a great piece to throw over my shoulders or warm up with during a chilly winter night. Not only does this gem keep me warm, but it’s the perfect accessory to edging up any outfit. I wear this jacket with super casual vibes and even dress it up with some tights and a dress. I can’t remember the name of the boutique I got this bad boy from but I know it was a little shop on Abbot Kinney Blvd. XO

This western style lariat necklace has been on my neck for a pretty substantial time throughout the entire month. I love it’s versatility and how it adds such an effortless edge to any outfit. I thrifted this gem so I can’t tell you where exactly to find it but I managed to find a similar style here.

Along with the ever so pleasant aroma of sunflowers, I get a lot of joy from the scents of lotions and fragrances. As you may already know, I spend a lot of time, money and energy taking care of my skin and have developed a pretty solid skin care routine. With the winter season comes dry skin and in order to avoid this I try my best to apply the best body lotions on a daily basis. After I get out of the shower I love lathering up in Bath and Body Works’ Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Tea body lotion. Not only do I love the scent but the eucalyptus tea is super calming and helps me to relax and unwind.

Staying within the theme of treating my dry skin, I’ve been incorporating a facial mist into my beauty routine. If I’m wearing a full face of makeup, I love applying the Mario Badescu Facial Spray to set everything in place and keep my skin fully hydrated! If my skin is feeling extra dry and I’m not wearing makeup, I love applying this bad boy all over my face. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated without feeling overly dewy or oily.

One lip color that I haven’t been able to put down has definitely been this bad boy! Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita is completely dreamy and I’m obsessed. It’s the perfect dark tone nude for my skin tone and lasts literally all day. I’m so impressed with the color pay off and pure quality of this product that I’ve already placed an order to try out some more shades. Please let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of these and what colors you love! XO

Foundation isn’t normally apart of my daily routine because on an everyday basis, I don’t wear makeup. Job interviews and weekend activities have been the only times I’ve worn foundation and this bad boy has definitely been my go to. On whim, I decided to pick up L’OREAL’s 24HR Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation while at Target. Ever since then, I realized this foundation is 10x better than some of my higher-end foundations! It’s full coverage, lasts literally all day long and leaves my face looking flawless. I’m obsessed! There’s a ton of shades to choose from so I’m sure you will find one that matches your skin tone perfectly.

That wraps it up for another monthly loves. My goal it to post one of these every month and see the accumulation of loves at the end of the year.

If you’ve been loving or curious to try out any of these items definitely let me know in the comments below or email me at rebecca.stylbug@gmail.com. Also, I would love to know what items you’ve been loving this month!

Sending love & happiness to my love bugs.
