January Loves

Hi love bugs!

I can honestly say January has been an amazing month and an even better start to the new year. So far, 2017 has been a year of major changes for me. January was a symbol of freedom and most importantly, growth. Mental, physical and spiritual growth have been the driving forces of January and will definitely be continuing forces throughout 2017.

Happiness, confidence and overall trust in faith are the main characteristics that have made this month an amazing one. Above all else, I truly feel like I’ve been able to redefine myself and really focus on my own happiness.

Other than these major January feels, here’s a mashup of random things I’ve been loving and obsessing over this month.

I’ve been doing a ton of reading this month. Thanks to Audible.com, I’ve been able to read literally anywhere! Check out these books I managed to read and finish this month.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson definitely hit home this month. This is an incredibly real and extremely helpful book of witty but super helpful life advice. Because of this book, I feel so much better about living my life being my true self without the regard of what others may think. In reality, we all care, we care about everything! The trick for living a full life is to care only for the things that matter. These are the things that guide you into growth, happiness and accomplishing your greatest goals. Uncertainty is the root of all progress and all growth. Be open to what life has to offer even if that isn’t always positive. Live fearlessly.

The Universe has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein is an incredible read if you’re at odds with your current situation. This book made me rethink the way I live and how I think about certain life situations. Gabrielle creates a guideline for manifesting your own happiness and creating the life you want to live. Everything from making your goals a reality towards having a positive mentality on negative life occurrences is discussed. I learned that thoughts, positivity and allowing for your dreams, goals and aspirations to come true is all completely possible if you’re mentally ready to create it.

Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso is literally everything its hyped up to be. Not only have I always been a major fan of Nasty Gal, but I’ve always admired how Sophia has been able to create such a successful brand from the ground up. I loved learning how Sophia was able to master the art of success even with harsh circumstances. Fashion, growing a successful business while having a rad mentality for life’s uncertainties is what being a #Girlboss is all about.

I received a Hydro Flask for Christmas from one of my best friends and it hasn’t left my side ever since. This bad boy literally comes with me anywhere! Not only is it stylish and adorable but it’s a great reminder to drink more water. I love the fact that I can put ice in my water in the morning and those ice cubes are still there by the evening. I keep it by my bed, in my car and by my side while I’m working. Thanks to this guy I am always hydrated.

I’m normally a heels type of gal but this month I’ve been switching it up and reaching for flats. Who am I!? I can definitely say I have a newfound love for rocking sneakers with any type of outfit. From my most casual days to even more dressy occasions, I’ve been grabbing my Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High Top’s and styling them with my outfits. Let me know if you’d like to see a post on how I style these bad boys!

A January Loves wouldn’t be complete without a mention of my beloved piece from HRH Collection. I received the vintage crystal minx rare choker for Christmas and it literally hasn’t left my neck ever since. I am so incredibly in love with this piece and I cannot wait to purchase more vintage stones from HRH!

This month, I truly began experimenting with serums and facial oils. One facial serum that I’ve added into my skincare regime is the Fig+Yarrow facial serum. This stuff is incredible! I use it at night before applying my nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. The packaging says that it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving elasticity while providing moisture. Although I may not have wrinkles or fine lines yet, I have always believed in preventative measures and taking action before it happens! Lately, my skin has been in desperate need of extra moisturize and nourishment because of these colder winter days. Since I began using this serum this month, I can already see an improvement in my overall complexion and suppleness. My pores have even started to shrink and diminish. I’m so glad I decided to try this bad boy out! Let me know if you would like to see a full winter skincare routine.

If you’ve been loving or curious to try out any of these items definitely let me know in the comments below or email me at rebecca.stylbug@gmail.com. Also, I would love to know what items you’ve been loving this month!

Sending love & happiness to my love bugs.
